Jungle Rollers RMAL MODE
#1
UPDATE: I recently released a video of me playing the mod and getting the gem on it.

3/9/2019 UPDATE: I remade the old version to make it more doable without too many unnecessary camera shifts. The differences are noticeable per se. Anyway, here's the updated version which you can download through this link http://www.mediafire.com/file/50vxq3zr0s...s.zip/file and the video stumbling into spoiler territory.

It's finally done. My Jungle Rollers version is out for the public to enjoy here : http://www.mediafire.com/file/xxtq7u8ej4...s.zip/file.
As with my N.Sanity Beach mod, I'll also upload a few word files containing the coordinates for the Crate types that exist, the level crate coordinates (twice since I worked on two crate files) and the Bonus Area Crate coordinates here : http://www.mediafire.com/file/7m35e37xj3...inates.zip. Unlike my N.Sanity Beach mod however, I've experimented a lot more with this one (meaning a few more tricky situations a few "hidden" crates as usual and a few other things). The same rule will be applied to more than just the crates in the next modded level on my list, The Great Gate. But for now, I hope you find some joy with this mod as well. As for my N.Sanity Beach mod, click here in case you're interested and haven't tried it yet : https://thewarproom.com/showthread.php?tid=46.

If you're interested in modding this game in some way for yourself, I'll give you a couple of links regarding tools made by other fellow creators from this community or general:
1.) NST pak Explorer by Neo_Kesha (Highly recommended): https://yadi.sk/d/0Ytfg3ca3YjtTN
2.) HxD by mh-nexus (Highly recommended): https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/
3.) Cheat Engine from cheatengine.org (Highly recommended): https://www.cheatengine.org
4.) NST Level Selector by ARD (A nice alternative for loading the levels as you please): https://thewarproom.com/showthread.php?tid=44

To start the mod successfully after you download it (Assuming you installed Neo_Kesha's pak Explored too):

1.)Make sure you keep the original and the modded paks in different folders beforehand (For instance the folder Modded_paks will be used to store the updated pak files whilst the Normal_paks folder will store the game's original pak files for said level).
2.)Extract the files from the zip to one of the folders to avoid mixing them up (For instance in the Modded_paks/Jungle Rollers).

3.)Navigate to the “archives” folder of your game installation (...\Steam\steamapps\common\Crash Bandicoot - N Sane Trilogy\archives), select it and click OK.

4.)Wait! The patch will take a while to be applied because level archives are big files. The NST Explorer won’t tell you when it’s done but if you have a look in the archives folder you can see the pak files being updated (Make sure you extract the files beforehand.). Once the file has been saved (L102_JungleRollers.pak, other paks may be presented later), the mod has been installed and it’s safe to run the game. If you’re unsure just wait 5 minutes after starting the patch and that should give it plenty of time to finish. The previous versions of those pak files will be backed up automatically and saved as pak.patch_bak files.
5.)Open the N. Sane Trilogy and start a new game in Crash 1 or load Jungle Rollers (Hints and such will be updated later). You’ll know if the mod has installed successfully because a basic crate will spawn on top to one of the second pair of columns in the start of the level.
6.)If the game shows you a black screen once you try to re-load the level, press quit in the level's main menu screen , wait until you spawn back to the hub, re-load it and the level will play naturally once more (This probably happens due to the swap I did by replacing the CameraGuides.igz file with my second Crates.igz file that allows the cloning of the level's crates) and lastly
7.)The following issue exists from doubling the level's crates so keep it in mind. The Tawna Crates have also been doubled (which means double the slots for the Bonus Area). The issue is apparent should you obtain more than the required amount (3 to be precise) of Tawna slots for the Bonus Area which WILL deny you access. Fortunately, I made sure 2 of these Crates's slots to be unobtainable but for the Crates themselves to break in some way still. However, the last doubled Crate could still cause problems should you obtain that fourth slot. So make sure you enter the Bonus Area with 3 TAWNA SLOTS.
8.)You need the Green Gem to get the gem itself.
9.) UPDATED: The new version avoids a lot of unfortunate camera instances which I believe it's for the better. Still, the level is challenging enough and a lot of instances are tweaked based on the level's overall difficulty as a top priority.

To sum it all up, if you've played this mod or my N.Sanity Beach one let me know of your experience. I could really use some constructive feedback here and there Tongue

In case you want to start modding yourself with the tools presented above, check out ARD's youtube video :
This video helped me a lot to bring the current mods to life. Maybe it can help you too Smile

And that was all for this thread. Got to work on The Great Gate now. Goodbye.
